GodHand Kamaboko 5mm Half-Round Metal File

The GodHand KAMABOKO File (GH-KF-5-S) is a specialized 5 mm metal file designed for precise surface finishing on plastic model parts. Its distinctive arched profile increases rigidity, helping the file resist flexing and allowing pressure from your hand to transfer more consistently to the filing surface.

Unlike a conventional half-round file, the arched side has no cutting teeth. Because this smooth arched section is narrower than the filing surface, builders can work close to recessed or reverse edges while reducing the risk of accidentally scratching the neighbouring side surface. GodHand specifies this feature for reverse-edge angles between approximately 90° and 180°.

The file uses a single-cut, fine tooth pattern, producing a cleaner cutting surface while still offering strong material removal. Its narrow 5 mm width also makes it particularly useful for working in confined areas and on smaller model-kit components.

GodHand intentionally designed the grip to be short and slim. This discourages excessive force and encourages lighter, more controlled filing, helping builders maintain flat surfaces without unintentionally changing the shape of the part.
