Add Hajime Katoki’s interpretation of the original Gundam to your collection with the MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.Ka from Mobile Suit Gundam.
Piloted by Amuro Ray during the One Year War, the RX-78-2 Gundam is the Earth Federation’s iconic prototype mobile suit. Its familiar white, blue, red, and yellow colour scheme and distinctive silhouette established the look that would inspire generations of Gundam designs.
Ver.Ka stands for “Version Katoki,” highlighting mecha designer Hajime Katoki’s interpretation of the mobile suit. This 1/100 Master Grade release presents the RX-78-2 with distinctive proportions, refined mechanical styling, and detailed markings. Originally released in 2002, it was the first kit in the MG Ver.Ka lineup, making it a memorable addition for collectors interested in Gunpla history.
The kit includes a Beam Rifle, two Beam Sabers, a Hyper Bazooka, and a Shield for a range of classic display poses. Its mechanical detail and distinctive styling also provide a rewarding starting point for panel lining, painting, and additional finishing. Assembly required.
Recommended for:
Mobile Suit Gundam fans, Amuro Ray collectors, Hajime Katoki design enthusiasts, MG Ver.Ka collectors, and builders looking for a classic 1/100 interpretation of the original RX-78-2 Gundam.
