Mineshima GF-3 Glass File

Handle precise gate cleanup and surface finishing with the Mineshima GF-3 Glass File, a tapered nano-glass file designed specifically for plastic model building.

The GF-3 features a sharp, narrow profile with a tip as slim as approximately 2 mm, making it especially useful for reaching tight spaces and working around small or confined areas where wider files are less practical. Mineshima designed it for pinpoint cutting and polishing tasks such as gate removal and parting-line cleanup.

Despite its fine finishing ability, the nano-glass surface provides cutting performance comparable to approximately #400–600 grit, followed by polishing performance of approximately #2000 grit. This allows builders to remove excess plastic and refine the surface with a single compact tool.

The transparent glass construction also helps maintain visibility of the area being worked on. The file is washable for easy maintenance and comes with a protective case for storage.

For best results, use the GF-3 for localized work rather than broad surfaces or curved areas. Mineshima also advises against using it on painted surfaces, as paint residue can cause clogging.
